Sunyoung Hwang (Coreia do Sul, 1988) recebeu o seu BFA em Belas Artes pela Slade School of Fine Art, UCL, London (2012) e completou o mestrado em Pintura na Royal College of Art, Londres (2016). Hwang foi selecionada como finalista do Young Contemporary Talent 2018, foi vencedora do Chadwell Award 2016, recebeu o terceiro lugar no Bath Open Art Prize 2016 e venceu o Steer Memorial Prize 2011. Hwang expôs internacionalmente, incluindo exposições individuais na Nunnery Gallery, Londres (2018); Galerie ERD, Seul (2017); Project Gallery, Arundel (2016). Participou numa residência na Bow Arts, Londres (2016-17) como parte do prémio Chadwell Award, e na SÍM Residency, Reykjavík (2015). As suas exposições coletivas incluem: The Cello Factory, Londres (2018); Messums Wiltshire, Salisbury (2018); The Square Gallery London, Londres (2016); Centre Artasia Paris, Paris (2016); SÍM Gallery, Reykjavík (2016).
