Erika Nina Suárez is a documentary and portrait photographer based in North Texas. Suárez spent most of her childhood living on a farm in her mother’s ancestral Hungarian village of Hosszúhetény before relocating with her family to South Florida. She received a BFA in Photography from The University of North Texas in 2019. All of Erika’s work is shot exclusively on medium and large format film since it enables her to make higher quality prints with greater detail.
In addition to undertaking photographic commissions, she is currently completing a long-term project that focuses on the resurgence of traditional farming practices within communities in Europe, including her extended family in Hungary. Erika’s work has been exhibited internationally and featured in numerous publications and billboards.
Erika lives and works between the Dallas/Fort Worth area in Texas and Hosszúhetény, Hungary. She holds dual citizenship in the EU and speaks Hungarian, English, Spanish, German, and Russian.
