Maria Oblicka (1991) is a multidisciplinary artist from Warsaw.
She holds a MA in sculpture/spatial arts and BA in industrial design from the Academy of Fine arts in warsaw. She is a co-owner of a conceptual linen brand LYKO and co-created a non-profit garden collective and cultural space “Spoldzielnia Krzak”.
Her work stems from personal experiences touching on the subjects of individual and collective trauma, internal narrative,notions of memory and sexuality. She uses voice, written word, video and sculpture as well as performance. In her sculpture practice she works with wood, textile and metal.
She exhibited in Warsaw, Dessau and Leipzig and completed a curatorial internship in Cape Town.
