MARCEL DEL CASTILLO (Caracas, 1974) Artist, curator and teacher. He lives and works in Monterrey. He studied social communication at the Central University of Venezuela, and is part of the National System of Creators of Mexico. Currently, his studies are oriented towards ethnography for artistic research and production, as well as deep reflection on the image.
His artistic work has been recognized and exhibited individually and collectively in various festivals and salons in several countries, for which he has received, among others, the first prize in the Latin American call for projects from the Montevideo Photography Center; the recognition of the National System of Creators of Mexico in 2023; Honorable mention and acquisition in the REVISIÓN 2022 Photography Salon of the Nuevo León Photo Library; the Fiscal Stimulus for Artistic Production Award, EFCA 2020; as well as the selection in several Residencies, such as the Residencies of artistic experimentation: of the Art Laboratory of the Tec de Monterrey and of BEK, Center for Electronic Arts of Bergen, Norway.

He directs the curatorial platform Pensar la imagen. Teacher and tutor of educational programs at CONARTE and the LCI Monterrey University. He has curated and presented for CONARTE, the FEMSA Collection, the Universidad de los Andes and independently at international festivals such as Califotofest in Colombia, Fotorio in Brazil, Exposed Looks in Peru, Meridafoto in Venezuela and the Nuevo León Festival in Mexico.
