Details
Canibalia, redux is an exhibition that examines the logics and imaginaries of cannibalism and the cannibal. Spanning from its colonial inception to its understanding as an ecosystemic perspective of being with the world, the show attempts to chart and summon the visceral geography the cannibal conforms. The cannibal is here a devious figure which allows entering history from its back alleys -the body, the footnote, the jungle, the slave and the witch- as well as a cosmopolitical position of predation, symbiose and aggregation; a political imagination device and a centrifugal force of exchange, which devours and transforms along its way. Canibalia, redux is a proposition to engage with the territory the cannibal inaugurates, as a counter-topia from where to (un)think cannibalism as a space of dissidence, desire, community, ecology and exchange.
