Clara Sánchez Sala (b. 1987, Alicante, Spain) is an artist based in Madrid.
The work of Clara Sánchez develops bonds between scientific, literary and technological data, from a poetic point of view, starting from three fundamental topics on her artistic investigation: the fictional dimension of cartographic representation; rational and metrical, the reflection on landscape as a meeting point, and the Earth as a primigenial experience for men. With the objective of creating a speech always referred to the complex world of fiction that we human beings generate in that incessant un- estrangement in which the meeting with the external world consists, and that we usually call: real.
Clara Sánchez Sala studied Fine Arts at the University of Castilla la Mancha (2007-2012). She obtained a MA Photoespaña: theories of photography and art projects, European University of Madrid (2012-2013), and MA on Art Creation and Research, Complutense University of Madrid (2013-2014). Her work has been exhibited internationally, including shows at Espacio Odeón (Bogotá), Tegmark Gathering (Stockholm), Casa Leibniz (Madrid), Antonio Pérez Foundation (Spain) among others. She has been awarded by Etampa 2016, acquisition prize, Drawing room 2017 and recently she has received a grant for artists in foreign residency programmes 2017, Comunidad de Madrid.
