Ángela Jiménez Durán (1996, Madrid). Studied at the École Nationale Supérieure d’Arts de Paris-Cergy, where she obtained a Masters degree in 2019. Her work develops in the fields of installation and sculpture, sometimes creating close encounters with writing and video, putting forward fictional narratives exploring uncertain, although possible, futures. Materiality and the temperature of different materials (poetic as well as real) appear regularly in her work.
She has exhibited in different national and international spaces such as: Glassbox, Paris (2019), le Post, Paris (2019), la Roche Guyon Castle, France (2017), YGREC Gallery, Paris (2015); Espacio O, Santiago de Chile (2018); Aragon Park, Madrid (2020), Edén curated by Casa Antillón, Casa de Campo, Madrid (2020), Alimentación 30, Madrid (2019), Espacio OTR, Madrid (2019), Arte abierto, Madrid (2017); and has participated in the SIART Biennial at the Museo Tambo Quirquincho location, La Paz, Bolivia (2016).
She was selected for the INJUVE 2020 Production grants, and for the Swatch Cities Madrid festival in 2018.
She founded the performance festival POT AU FEU with the collective Mésanges Gang, already counting with four editions, the last one held at the Marcelin Berthelot Theatre in Montreuil (Paris, France).
Next year she will show her work in the INJUVE 2020 exhibit, in her solo show in Galeria Ocupa (Porto, Portugal) and in the next collective show by the collective AbsurdBeings (Amsterdam, Holland). She will also be in residence at the Abbaye de Maubuisson (Paris, France).
