Marcelo Viquez is an Uruguayan artist based in Palma, Spain. He was born in a peripheral neighborhood of Montevideo, Paso de la Arena, a fact that marks his multidisciplinary and autobiographical work. A keen observer who assumes the responsibility and burden of expressing the truth wherever he goes, creating a cryptic and critical work.

Viquez lives and works in Mallorca for almost two decades. He has participated in numerous national and international exhibitions. In 2019, in Mexico, after residing at Taller de Los Guayabos, Guadalajara, Jalisco. His work is part of private and public collections as Montana Mobler Collection, Denmark, Tomás Ruiz Collection, Valencia, Spain, Olor Visual Collection, Barcelona, Es Baluard Museu, Palma, Spain.
