Javier Rodríguez Lozano (Madrid, 1992). I live and work in Madrid. I have obtained a BFA and MFA, both from the Complutense University of Madrid. I have attended different workshops taught by artists such as Cristina Iglesias, Juan Luis Moraza and Fernanda Fragateiro. My artistic practice researches the visual and installative language of the threshold between our urban and domestic environment. In this interstice, my projects come from small daily phenomena, of subtle and marginal kind. Despite being overlooked on a daily basis, these events have great symbolic value, mainly of an identity nature. This has taken me to work with things as different as doormats, curtains, graffiti and cats.
I have exhibit solo at: Galería Fran Reus, Palma (2018); and Galería Bacelos, Madrid (entreacto, 2017). And in group shows (selection) like: Casal Solleric, Palma (2020); Sala de Arte Joven, Madrid (2019) curator Ángel Calvo Ulloa and (2017) c. Virginia Torrente; Espacio OTR, c. Marlon de Azambuja, Madrid (2018); MAC, Coruña (2018); LABoral, Gijón (2017); Galería Fran Reus, Palma (2017); and Sala Amadís, c. Semíramis González, Madrid (2017). I have been selected in several prizes and winner of: VII Prize Artistic Production Fundación Banco Santander+Openstudio (2019), to reside in Naveoporto in 2020; Circuitos de Artes Plásticas (2019 and 2016); Entreacto (2017); Art<35 (2017); and First Prize ArteLateral Complutense (2016).
