Gabriel Simo was born in São Paulo and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He studied Design at ESPM Rio until the fifth period, when he began to dedicate himself full-time to art. In the following years he took courses in painting and artistic conceptualization at the Escola de Artes Visuais do Parque Lage.

Simo has a figurative painting that aims at the decontextualization of bodies in the urban environment.Layers of paint erase the suggestive side that a setting can offer, giving space to the imagination.

The research touches on several issues that pulsate in the urban centers of the world. Loneliness, solitude, excesses, scarcity, waste, affection. Everything the city can offer in smells, people, culture, signs and colors that translate the very history of that place.
