A Sphere Of Water Orbiting A Star features significant new work by Turner Prize nominated **The Otolith Group **co-commissioned by Galway Arts Centre and Hangar Artistic Research Centre, Lisbon.

A Sphere Of Water Orbiting A Star is conceived as a sensory portal through the sonic imagination of marine mutation and interhydratic travel between liquid planets.

Conceived by Kodwo Eshun and Anjalika Sagar of The Otolith Group in collaboration with sound designer and composer Tyler Friedman, A Sphere Of Water Orbiting A Star features previously unheard conversations between Kodwo Eshun and Remnant of a Hydrogen Element recorded for The Otolith Group’s Hydra Decapita (2010), with digital video filmed at the mouth of the River Corrib in Galway as it enters the Atlantic Ocean.

Hydra Decapita (2010), a non- figurative meditation informed by the mythos of marine mutation developed between 1992 and 2002 by Drexciya the Detroit-based electronic duo founded by James Stimson and Gerald Donald, will be screened at 7pm on Thursdays
