Ellena Savage is a lyric essayist, critic and poet from Melbourne, Australia. Her writing, lectures and artist collaborations have been published and performed widely across Australian literary journals, periodicals, institutions, writers´ festivals and art spaces. She is a contributing editor at The Lifted Brow. Ellena’s essays have won and been shortlisted for many prizes; she has studied nonfiction under Maggie Nelson at Tin House Summer Workshop; and in 2015 she was named one of Melbourne Writers Festival’s ’30 Writers Under 30′. Ellena is currently completing her first book, an experimental essay collection titled Blueberries after the opening essay, which in 2016 was shortlisted for the Scribe Nonfiction Prize for Young Writers, longlisted for the Richell Prize and is a finalist in The Atlas Review’s Chapbook Series. One chapter of this book is set to take place in Lisbon.
