Deolinda Aguiar, born in Ribeirão Preto-SP, lives and works in São Paulo. Her work dialogues with the architecture of the space, using structural materials to reflect the structures of power. Deolinda artistic training was developed at Ateliê Fidalga, where she attended for 6 years the group for studie and analyses coordinated by Sandra Cinto and Albano Afonso in São Paulo. She has also participated in the Creative Process workshop and the study group Dinamic Encounters – Dusseldorf / Venice 2007 and Documenta in Kassel / Munster 2017, coordinated by Charles Watson, teacher at the Visual Arts School of Parque Lage – Rio de Janeiro. Attended the group of studies and projects Hermes Visual Arts, guided by Nino Cais and Marcelo Amorim. She has also participated in the General Clinical studies group with Thais Rivitti and Cadú Ricciopo at Ateliê 397 in 2016 in São Paulo.
Among the exhibitions Deolinda has participated, highlight to the collective ‘Love me tender’ and later the solo exhibition ‘Em Branco’, at SAO Espaço de arte, SP; ‘About Change’ at the World Bank of America, in Washington DC / USA; XVIII Biennial of Cerveira PT; Carpe Diem Art and Research and Carlos Carvalho Gallery, with Ateliê Fidalga, in the collective ‘Entre tempos’, Lisbon / PT. Participated in the collective show ‘Strip’ at the Fredric Spitzer Gallery / Miami / USA, Vitrines MASP 2013, coordinated by Regina Silveira, 10th Abre Alas at the Galeria Gentil Carioca / RJ, ‘In the limits of art’ with Ateliê Fidalga at Paço das Artes / USP and Projeto Fidalga at SPARTE 2010. Deolinda Aguiar was awarded with the acquisition prize at the 33rd Salon of Contemporary Art of Santo André, SP.
Her work is represented in the Art Collections of the World Bank of America in Washington-DC and in the City Hall of Santo André, São Paulo Brazil.
