Dalton Paula was born in 1982 in Brasília-DF and currently lives and works in Goiânia. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts and explores the silenced body in urban spaces. In 2021, he participated in the exhibition “Enciclopédia Negra” at the Pinacoteca de São Paulo. In 2020, he held his first solo exhibition, “Dalton Paula: A Kidnapper of Souls,” in New York at the Alexander and Bonin Gallery. In 2019, he was one of the five winners of the 7th edition of the CNI SESI SENAI Marcantonio Vilaça Award for Visual Arts and also exhibited at the “36th Panorama of Brazilian Art: Sertão” at the Museum of Modern Art of São Paulo – MAM. In 2018, he was selected for the “Songs for Sabotage” Triennial at the New Museum in New York, USA. He also participated in the 11th Mercosul Biennial of Visual Arts – “The Atlantic Triangle,” in Porto Alegre-RS, and had works in the exhibition “Afro-Atlantic Histories” (MASP and Instituto Tomie Ohtake). In 2017, he took part in “The Atlantic Triangle” exhibition (Goethe Institute in Lagos, Nigeria), and in 2016, he was one of the invited artists for the 32nd São Paulo Biennial.
