RULES
All artists entering the Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize must read and confirm that that they and their work are eligible for entry.
Any artist or work that do not comply with the Rules of the Prize will be removed from the exhibition.
The judges’ decision will be final and binding.
WHO CAN ENTER?
The Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize is open to living artists over the age of 18, who are resident in the British Isles.
Entries will not be accepted from members of the Charity and Education Committee of the Painter-Stainers’ Company.
WHAT CAN BE ENTERED?
Artists may submit up to four works. Works of art submitted must not exceed 60 inches (152cm) in their largest dimension including frame.
- Only original, two-dimensional works in any painting or drawing media are eligible.
- All entries must have been completed in the last three years.
- All entries cannot have been previously exhibited.
- All works must be for sale, except commissioned portraits.
- Works submitted must be available for exhibition.
SELECTED WORKS
All works shortlisted for the final selection must be labelled with the artist’s name, address, title of work and, if for sale, the price. Works on paper must be securely framed and behind glass. It is suggested that canvases in excess of 36 inches square should have adequate cross-bearers to avoid damage. Metal, plastic or clip frames will not be allowed. There should be no projections from the back of the frames. Please tape down any wires or rings on the back of the frames.
Entries will not be accepted from members of the Charity and Education Committee of the Painter-Stainers’ Company.
ENTRY FEE
The standard entry fee is £15 per work and student entry fee is £8 payable at the time of entry.
SALE OF WORKS
All works must be for sale, except for commissioned portraits. Works not for sale must be labelled NFS and marked NFS on the Entry Form. If not, Parker Harris Partnership is authorised to offer them for sale. Commission of 40% + VAT will be levied on works sold during or as a result of the exhibition, or by means of this website. Title and risk will pass on payment by and collection by or delivery to the buyer.
REPRODUCTION OF IMAGES
Those artists whose works are selected for exhibition accept and agree that all works in the exhibition may be photographed and/or reproduced for the catalogue, press, publicity, promotion and advertising of the Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize, including on its website.

If selected for the Final Judging, artists will be invited to bring their work to the Mall Galleries. Please see Entry Process, below.

ENTRY PROCESS
The panel of judges will review all entries from the digital submission process. Approximately 200 artists will then be invited to deliver their actual works to the Federation of British Artists (FBA), 17 Carlton House Terrace, London SW1Y 5BD, for the final judging. Only works shortlisted from the initial digital submission will be received for final judging. These works will only be accepted at the submission point with fully completed entry forms and labels, which will be emailed to artists following the initial judging. Please note that notification of all results will be sent by email only.

The risk of damage or loss, however caused, is the responsibility of the artist, who is therefore advised to arrange adequate insurance cover. The provisions of this call for entries may be waived or varied by the Prize Organisers in their sole discretion.
