TAJ is a Moroccan artist who grew up in Casablanca. He has developed a distinctive mixed-media practice that begins with digital photomontageand evolves through meticulous hand intervention. Each print is individually reworked with paint, resin, and glitter, transforming it into a unique artwork in which digital imagery and manual gesture merge into a single surface. His practice is rooted in a fundamental conviction: we are all collages. Just as DNA is composed of four essential building blocks, human identity is shaped through accumulation, layering, and continuous transformation. TAJ explores this inner architecture, the influence of others on the self, the weight of inheritance, and the search for the authentic individual behind the masks we wear. A finalist for the Al Mada – Émergence Prize, TAJ has exhibited in Casablanca at Artspace (2022), La Friche Éphémère (2024), and in the group exhibition Art Contemporain Émergent (2025).
