Samantha Rees, born in Canada, lives and works in Den Haag, The Netherlands. Bachelor in Fine Arts from the University of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, Samantha Rees has a Master degree in painting and drawing from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She is mainly interested in obsolete urban spaces no longer useful. In her artistic practice, Rees investigates the place that ruins have come to represent in our contemporary society, in attempt to depict and portray a merging between real and non-real. Samantha Rees has participated in solo and group exhibitions since 2003.
