Mwana Pwo by Icaro March 06, 2022 0 Portfolios

Mwana Pwo (Angola, 1988) lives and works in Luanda. A photographer and visual artist, Pwo portrays contemporary life with intensity and a contrasting eye, actively recording the multiple dimensions of the individual self while capturing the depth of social realities of modern day Angola. Her work also presents a feminist examination of social roles, experiences, and personal stories, which she sometimes explores through self-portraiture. Her visions are expressed primarily through documentary photography and portraiture. She is currently expanding her practice by experimenting with mixed media and techniques. Her last intervention was in Fuckin’ Globo 2021.
