Moisés Patrício (b. 1984, São Paulo, Brazil) is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores Afro-Brazilian spirituality, ancestry, and contemporary social dynamics. Moving between painting, photography, performance, and installation, Patrício uses art as a tool for cultural affirmation and resistance. His renowned series Aceita? examines the exchange of values and symbols within Brazilian society, particularly in relation to African heritage.
In addition to his artistic career, Patrício is a Babalorixá and integrates Candomblé philosophy into his creative process. His work has been exhibited in major institutions in Brazil and abroad, and he has participated in significant artistic residencies. He is currently in Portugal for an artistic residency at Hangar and Bordallo Pinheiro, deepening his research on Black Surrealism, the visual poetics of Orixás, and the ritualistic aspects of art.
This residence is supported by the gallery Karla Osório.
