Herberto Smith is a photographer, artist and educator. He was born in Guinea-Bissau, grew up in S. Tomé and Príncipe and lives in Portugal.

His projects have focused on photographic practices that incorporate collaborative methodologies aimed at producing socially engaged pieces, creating relationships, interactions and critical thinking.

He addresses issues related to youth culture, identities, racial perceptions and social inclusion.
