With a degree in Visual Arts from the Federal University of Goiás, Genor Sales is a visual artist, member of Jatobá Nascente – Home Studio & Art Education Center, and represented by Cerrado Galeria. Through his peripheral experience, he develops research using the subjectivity of fish out of water to discuss social, racial, and food issues. Resident of Sertão Negro Atelier and School of Arts since April 2022. He is part of the 36th São Paulo Biennial with Sertão Negro (2025) in the installation “Sertões,” and is featured in the exhibition Sertão Negro: Território vivo at Storefront (New York, 2025), Entre colapsos e encantamentos at Galeria Reocupa (São Paulo, 2025), He held his first solo exhibition in 2025 at Cerrado Cultural (Brasília) entitled “O tempo é rei” (Time is King), was nominated for the 2025 PIPA Award, participated in Arco MADRID (Spain, 2025), participated in the Panorama de Arte Contemporânea de Goiás (Anápolis, 2024), Abrir Horizontes 2 (Goiânia, 2024), Obras e Rumos (Goiânia, 2024), Baobá no Asfalto – Sé Galeria (São Paulo, 2024), 4th MABRI Small Format Art Salon (2024), Prêmio Estímulo – FARGO (2024), SP Arte – Brazilian Routes/ROTAS (2023, 2024, and 2025), Sementes Sertanejas – FAV Gallery Exhibition (Goiânia, 2023), and Pemba – Residência Preta – Dos Brasis/Sesc (2022).
