Cristina Lisot, born in 1973 in Caxias do Sul, Brazil, works across disciplines such as performing arts, visual arts, and body sciences, focusing on identity. Skilled in knitting, sewing, and dance from a young age, she began her contemporary dance career in 1998 and was a member of the Caxias do Sul Dance Company from 2006 to 2013.
Her hybrid background includes degrees in Biochemistry, Visual Arts, Dramatic Arts, and Physical Education. Cristina holds a postgraduate degree in Body and Culture and a master’s from UFRGS, with research on Italian colonization in southern Brazil. She also participated in residencies, including at the American Dance Festival in 2019, where she created the art object “○.”
Cristina has exhibited in numerous collective and solo exhibitions, including “21 Território da Arte” (2024), “Natural Impressions” (2023), and “Entre” (2024). She has received awards such as the FAC Visual Arts Award (2021) and the Best Characterization Award (2023).
She continues her work as an artist, biochemist, and occasional art educator.
