Born in Lobito, Angola, and currently based in Lisbon, Portugal, Taya is a painter, educator, and graphic designer. Her artistic practice draws on the visual language of contemporary design while remaining deeply rooted in her African heritage and the experience of living between cultures. Working through abstraction, she explores the relationship between the inner world and our shared reality, engaging with themes of presence, consciousness, and transformation. Inspired by the rhythms of nature and an ongoing exploration of the human mind, Taya has developed a visual language that brings together geometric precision and organic forms. Her paintings inhabit the space between the visible and the invisible, creating quiet moments of contemplation and self-reflection.
