Minkyung (she/her) is a Korean-Canadian artist currently based in Korea. After eight years as an Art Director at a stop-motion studio in NYC—earning an Emmy nomination for Principles of Pleasure (Netflix)—she has shifted her focus to her art practice. Over the past year, she has deepened her artistic exploration, leading to projects such as set design for the upcoming Amazon Prime Video documentary Octopus and an installation collaboration with Oh Fleur for FOCUS Art Fair (NYC, May 2024).
In her practice, Minkyung illuminates the often-overlooked intricacies of everyday life. She captures subtle phenomena using natural materials such as clay, paper, and found objects, creating moments that invite viewers to pause, observe, and contemplate the beauty in the details.
Minkyung holds a BFA from RISD and has exhibited internationally at AYLO, ANNY Fest, CADAF, the Society of Illustrators (NYC), Gallery Ji-ha (Korea), and Prisma Estúdio (Portugal)
