Sofía was born in Buenos Aires in 1991. She graduated as a psychologist from the University of Buenos Aires and completed a residency in clinical psychology. She created a project to promote mental health through artistic practices aimed at teenagers. She also studied textile art in the fashion design program at UBA and worked as an assistant to various visual artists. She has participated in several contemporary art workshops and residencies.
Her artistic practice revolves around the main themes of psychopathological diagnoses, dreams as archives, and the body’s movements in different occupations, all guided by the principle of repetition. She is interested in the movements of animate and inanimate bodies all guided by the principle of repetition and uses different tools to explore these issues, including machine sewing as a form of drawing, video, and interactive interfaces. Currently, she is building a website where people can enter their dreams and interact with them.
