Van Holland (Fortaleza, Ceará) is an artist and researcher of poetic transits. Has a BA in Visual Arts from Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ) and studied at Parque Lage Visual Arts School in Rio de Janeiro. Among his most recent exhibitions are: Prêmio Energias na Arte at Tomie Ohtake Institute (São Paulo), SESC Consolação (São Paulo), Caixa Preta (Rio de Janeiro) and Casa de Artes de Paquetá (Rio de Janeiro) with the collective Transburger. Has published “two moons in a red sky” by the publisher Rébus (Rio de Janeiro). Van Holanda participated at the 32° Biennial of São Paulo in the restaurant-artwork “Restauro”, by Jorge Menna Barreto. Holanda was recently a fellow at Matony House art residency in La Paz, Bolivia.
Van Holland’s residence in Hangar is held by the Tomie Ohtake Institute, sponsored by EDP and the Instituto EDP, being the winner of the 5th edition of the Energias na Arte Award.
