Mai Zenun is a multi-artist sociologist and Brazilian poet in transit. She holds a Master’s degree in Artistic Photography from the Instituto de Produção Cultural & Imagem (PT), a Master’s degree from the University of Brasília and a PhD from the Federal University of Goiás, with her thesis A cidade e o cinema [Negro]: o caso FESPACO. She is the co-creator of Nêga Filmes, which develops projects in cinema, education, photography, poetry and performance. She works with and is interested in issues related to black representation, counter-colonial methodologies and pedagogies, forced migration, invented borders and anti-racist poetics.
