My name is Iryna Maksymova. I was born and raised in a small town in the western part of Ukraine called Kolomyia. After school I entered the local college to study Fine Arts. At the age of 19 I moved to the bigger city Lviv to study graphic design in Lviv Polytechnic National University. Since that time I have been living and working in Lviv. After finishing the university I worked in different companies as a graphic designer for about 5 years. However I was always secretly dreaming to become an artist. Covid changed everything. When covid hit I left my job in IT company and started searching my path.
My artistic journey started with drawing abstractions and forms the way I felt them. While drawing I experimented a lot and started to add more figurative motives to the works. Everyday hard work paid me well. I developed my artistic style, ideas and themes. But I don’t want to stop. I am continuing searching new ideas and developing new techniques to represent my ideas. I am continuing exploring and investigating the world. I am very happy be an artist.
But recently due to the Russian war against Ukraine I had to leave my country and for already a month I have been living in Portugal. But as soon as the war is over, I am planning to move back to my country.
