Born in Lisbon in 1994, Margarida Bak Gordon completed a professional artistic course in Stage Design at Escola António Arroio. She has a BA in Political Science and International Relations and a Masters in Aesthetics and Art Studies, both from FCSH/UNL. There, she did her master’s thesis around the work Leben? Oder Theater? by the German artist Charlotte Salomon.
In 2017/2018 she was a student of the PACAP – Advanced course in performing arts creation, at Fórum Dança, curated by Patrícia Portela. As part of this course, she presented her first solo work, the installation «Dear Aunt,», at Galeria ZDB in Lisbon and at Teatro Viriato in Viseu. She collaborated with Thierry Simões (who was her teacher at the time) on the project Comme ment jects et cris certes un démêle ivre, presented in 2017 at Galeria Diferença, in Lisbon, and she was one of the illustrators invited by Patrícia Portela for the audio-postcard Je Suis Bovary, edited by Prado – Associação Cultural and BOCA, in 2018. In 2020 and 2021 she was the assistant director of Catarina and the beauty of killing fascists, a recent creation by playwright and director Tiago Rodrigues.
