Resem Verkron

Born in Luanda, Angola, in 1999, Resem Verkron explores various fields of artistic communication, starting with graffiti and, in 2017, photography. The artist moves between experimental cinema and alternative music.

In 2021, he was invited by Kamy Lara to be an assistant director and camera operator for the documentary “Fuckin Globo,” and at the end of the same year, he joined the production company Geração 80, where he has been developing his studies and working on his upcoming projects. In October of the same year, he released his first electronic music EP on SoundCloud, titled Futurismo Emocional.

In 2022, he made a strong entrance into the Angolan audiovisual scene, giving voice to a new experimental language with numerous productions, films, and a television series as the director of photography. In 2023, he was selected by the Johnnie Walker x TRACE AFRICA Keep Walking Africa: Top 30 list as one of the 30 pioneering and visionary African cultural leaders of the next generation.

He is currently developing a collaborative project at Hangar with the support of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
