Synopsis

It is a sounding journey in movement, where the layers of organic intensity of human beings, that coexist in the spaces of urban transports, mix with the presence of 5 young individuals from those same places, counting on Tristany, to moderate all the sounding provocation, working as a aesthetic handle to capture the sounds of existence as group, in transportation facilities, in the current pandemic situation that we all face nowadays.

Tristany paints with his voice, illustrating the reality he experienced, through his gaze and the gaze of the people around him. Eyes that talk about unfeasible, marginalized and sometimes romanticized realities.
Through his multidisciplinary art, he expresses his way of feeling, creating a multiplicity of rhythms, with different sounds and visual stimuli, representing all the cultures in which he feels inserted.
He grew up and lives on the Sintra Line, on the outskirts of Lisbon, where the streets at night have an orange tone, where mothers come to sleep after another day’s work and where the ostentation is to have Liverpool’s full tracksuit.

Nael D’Almeida | August 4th, 6 pm

“Our korps move in the spaces and the spaces belong to the korps that move.”

The conversations are established, Fernando and Tristany meet twice. The first to look, the second to contemplate all that they “want to be”.

Fernando Nuwanda
“Since a very young age, the aesthetic of things awoke in me curiosity, a vivid memory that I have is to ask my elementary school teacher for her feedback on my drawings, I used to draw everywhere, in book covers, dossiers and I even scratched some walls later. I’ve always thought that when I was a “grown up” design would be a hobby or even a career, but by FEAR I never took the chance on “arts”, leaving it further and further behind.
Later, in 2015/2016, I started to photograph with my cell phone and with those simple cameras that we all have at home and that’s when I realised that photography was something that I liked and would make me leave the house, I could walk for hours with a friend to discover new places or find that “view” and make that photo even if it was with my phone.
Afterwards came the first summer job and I invested all that I “had” in my first equipment.
Ever since, with photography, I’ve had the opportunity of meeting a lot of people, having experiences that I’ve only seen on “television”, finding new places. Most of all the experience of photography let me have a testimony of everything that I want, to know that I have the power to create at any moment, it’s one of the best sensations photography gives us.
Nowadays I want my work to follow my sensibility, my critical sense about the subject of my work. To leave my vision, my “point” of view, is my goal as a photographer.”
