Erina Harris

Erina Harris (Ph.D. Creative Writing) is a Canadian writer and a Fellow of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop.
She is the recipient of numerous awards for creative writing, teaching, and activism. She recently published a collection of poetry and lyric essays, a feminist intervention in the tradition of nonsense verse and fairy tales entitled Trading Beauty Secrets with the Dead. Erina is honoured to develop an artistic research-creation project at HANGAR. She will be conducting research at the local Doll Hospital de Bonecas, the oldest surviving doll hospital in the world (founded in 1830 by Dona Carlota)!

Erina will be at work on an intersectional feminist study of Dona Carlota, and will be exploring the repair/healing of toys within the broader context of ecological crisis.
