Journey to the Center of Capricorn – Moshanyana, Rui Tenreiro, 2’45”, 2013

Moshanyana is the first short film from a trilogy belonging to Journey to The Centre of Capricorn, an art project consisting of film and writing. The stories unfold in Capricorn, a fictitious African country, and they’re based on dreams and premonitions about the destiny of Mozambique, where I’m from. The world of Capricorn isn’t set in the future, but it rather is a romantic parallel reality, a love song to the beauty of rotting post-and-colonial structures.
