“If there was ever a time to envision the collective, it is now! Ladies and Gentlemen and People In-between, bounce… together”
With this sensory practice, Vânia Rovisco creates an urban ritual for accessing the collective body through rhythmical patterns, with an invitation to experience and invoke bodily resonance as a mode to identify togetherness. This is a practice that seeks to lessen the gap between theory and practice, so that as a diverse community we may be able to resonate that which is truly essential to the livelihoods of all human beings.
Vânia Rovisco is a performance artist part of the contemporary Portuguese dance community. She Initiated working professionally in 2001, and has had a plentiful and vast experience: first as a performer/dancer, then as a teacher, and from 2006 she started presenting her own works and collaborated extensively with other artists in various creative fields: from music, to performing, directing movement in dance and theatre, to producing her own video work. Her career extends both abroad as in Portugal.
