We are offering residencies in Australia, Brazil, Spain, Italy and the United States.\u00a0We are seeking high calibre African artists, in different stages of their development (from emerging to late career), who are provocative, innovative, and stretching the boundaries of their artistic practice.<\/p>\n<p>The residencies are available to\u00a0composers, writers, video\/filmmakers, curators, visual and performance artists as well as other forms, whose work is inspired by or relates to the challenges facing humanity.<\/p>\n<p><b>Apply Today!<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The AIR partners will select an artist from a short list provided by the Africa Centre for one of their 2018 residencies. Each residency offers a distinct structure, set of requirements and duration. The costs of the residency and round-trip airfare are included in each residency award made. \u00a0This year there are two distinct application processes:<\/p>\n<p><b>Mid \u2013 Late Career Artists<\/b>\u00a0\u2013 interested in the Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center residency in Italy, can\u00a0read the application guidelines\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.africacentre.net\/bellagio-center-2017-application-guidelines\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>. Bellagio Center applications close on\u00a0<b>December 15th<\/b><b>, 2017.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Emerging \u2013 Mid Career Artists<\/b>\u00a0\u2013 interested in residency opportunities at Bundanon Trust in Australia, Instituto Sacatar in Brazil, Jiwar in Spain, Fountainhead Residency in Miami, or International Studio\u00a0&amp; Curatorial Program in New York,\u00a0can read the application guidelines\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.africacentre.net\/air-2017-application-guidelines\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>.\u00a0 The deadline for applications in this category is\u00a0<b>December 16<\/b><b>th<\/b><b>, 2017.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Regular updates will be shared via the AIR Facebook and Twitter pages.
