Continuous Movement is an exhibition about processes. It explores the common areas that are generated from a multiple look at constantly developing projects that create the situations that make up the exhibition.<\/p>\n

For four consecutive weeks, the artists Marco Godoy, Aim\u00e9e Zito Lema, Priscila Fernandes with Jay Tan and Nuno da Luz will work in the gallery space (one artist per week) with procedural and investigative work. Every Saturday at 5:00 p.m., there will be an event during which the games and actions developed during the week will be rethought and examined. The rhythms and dynamics of the exhibition invites the public to come to the gallery more than once, since each visit will be part of a whole.<\/p>\n

Marco Godoy will bring to the space the strategies used by the pickpockets and apply them to the use we make of images to generate alchemies and magic. Aim\u00e9e Zito Lema departs from the oral tradition that conjugates a collective archive in the transmission of a symptomatology that have inherited the new generations in relation to the authoritarian regime of Salazar. Priscila Fernandes in collaboration with Jay Tan, will try a sensory, perceptive and cognitive discourse by exchanging works that visualizes the vulnerability of the process. Nuno da Luz explores the reverberations of the exhibition hall subjected to the constant fluctuation of the vibrations that launch sound apparatuses.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Bios<\/h3>\n

Violeta Janeiro Alfageme<\/strong> (1982) is a curator and researcher. Her work centres primarily on collaborative art practices, politics of knowledge and alternative forms of production, reception and channelling of art. She has worked at the 52nd Venice Biennale, at the Guggenheim Museum New York (Curatorial Fellowship) and at the Spanish Consulate in Shanghai. She is currently preparing her Doctoral Thesis at Universidad de Santiago de Compostela on collaborative art in Spain during the 1990s. In 2017, she has been assistant curator for the Spanish Pavilion at the 57th Biennale di Venezia.\u00a0Among her curatorship are: Continent & Content: Spanish Centres for Contemporary Art, Tongji University and Instituto Cervantes in Shanghai (2009), Influences: a route through the European Cultural Scope, EU Pavilion at EXPO Shanghai (2010) and Several Forms of Friendship at The Goma Gallery in Madrid (2016-17), Exercises Around the Concept of Post-Truth (2017). During July 2017, she has completed a Curatorial Residency at CIA in Buenos Aires (Argentina).<\/p>\n

Marco Godoy<\/strong> studied Fine Arts at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) and at the School of Art Institute of Chicago. He holds a master’s degree in Photography from the Royal College of Art (2014). Marco Godoy\u2019s work discusses the society and its rights, connected to the context in which they perform. The works originate as questions about the fractures of the system, generating visual hypotheses through modification, documentation and reorganization as work strategies. The images produced are designed as starting points for a dialogue about the construction of our paradigm. To do this, he uses the media as intervention, photography and video.\u00a0Godoy\u2019s works have been exhibited in galleries and institutions such as the Pompidou Center (2016), the Whitechapel Gallery (2015), the Contemporary Temple Philadelphia (2015), the Tokyo Palace (2015), the Herzliya Tel Aviv Museum of Contemporary Art ), Edinburgh Museum of Art (2015), Black Dies (2015), Matadero Madrid (2015), ICA London (2015), La Panera Lleida (2015), Liverpool Biennial, Stedelijk Museum-Hertogenbosch (2014) Contemporary Art (2014), and Galer\u00eda Barcelona (2014), Siart Bienal La Paz (2013), Tabacalera Madrid (2012), Place to doubt Colombia (2012), among others.<\/p>\n

Priscila Fernandes<\/strong> was born in Coimbra in 1981. Lives and works in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. She graduated in Painting from the National College of Art and Design in Dublin, Republic of Ireland, and received her master’s degree in Fine Arts at the Piet Zwart Institute, Willem de Kooning Academy of the University of Rotterdam. The work of Priscila Fernandes presents proposals in the field of installation, painting and video. In her production, Priscila Fernandes reflects on the impact of industrial and post-industrial contexts on individuals’ lives and their sensorial perception. In videos, publications, drawings, paintings, performances and sound installations, it addresses the social disputes that are at the center of aesthetic decisions of different modern movements. Aim\u00e9e Zito Lema<\/strong> (Amsterdam, 1982, grew up in Buenos Aires) studied at the University of the Arts, Buenos Aires, the Gerrit Rietveld Academy, Amsterdam, and followed the Master Artistic Research program of the Royal Academy in The Hague (2009 \u2013 2011).\u00a0Aim\u00e9e Zito Lema investigates the way events are remembered, recorded, and how they influence the future, dealing with memories and traumas in a poetic manner.\u00a0Among her current and recent projects and exhibitions are: 11th Gwangju Biennale the Dorothea von Stetten Award exhibition at the Kunstmuseum Bonn (2016), L’art de la Revolte – Hors Pistes – Centre Pompidou Paris (2016), the long-term-research project Body at Work, at Casco, office for art design and theory, Utrecht (2013 \u2013 2014). She was artist-in-residence at \u2018Het Vijfde Seizoen\u2019, Den Dolder, (2011), and has been invited to give talks at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy Amsterdam, the Royal Academy in The Hague, and guest teaching at ArtEZ, Arnhem (2014). She obtained grants and scholarships from the Mondrian Found, the Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst and the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds. Zito Lema recently finished the Artist-in-residency program at the Rijksakademie Amsterdam (2015 \u2013 2016).<\/p>\n

Nuno da Luz<\/strong> (Lisbon, 1984) lives and works in Berlin. Artist and publisher, his work circumscribes both aural and visual in the form of events, installations and printed matter; the latter mostly distributed through the publisher atlas Projectos (run together with artists Andr\u00e9 Rom\u00e3o and Gon\u00e7alo Sena) and the record label Palmario Recordings (run together with the artist Joana Escoval). He recently completed the Master Program of Experimentation in Art and Politics (SPEAP) at Sciences Po, Paris, and founded coyote, a cross-cutting collective working on print, film, lectures and other experimental forms (together with artists Tristan Bera and Ana Vaz, journalist Elida H\u00f8eg and editor Cl\u00e9mence Seurat).\u00a0Recent projects include performing live \u201cwith Assisted Resonance\u201d in Ficarra (Italy), Paris, New York, Porto and Berlin; as well as solo show \u201cenvironments\u201d at Solar \u2013 Galeria de Arte Cinem\u00e1tica, in Vila do Conde.
