In her artistic practice, that spans video and digital media, text and printed matter, collectivity, communal making practices and pedagogical forms, Hagen constructs platforms and performative situations for critical reflection on dominant narratives, with an interest in artistic processes as civic participation. Her work has been exhibited at, among others, Kunstnerforbundet, Oslo (2023), Bergen Kunsthall (2021), Kunsthalle Wilhelmshaven (2021), the Nordic Biennale \u2018MOMENTUM\u2019, Moss (2019), Index\u2014The Swedish Contemporary Art Foundation, Stockholm (2019), Altan, Brudaholen (2021), and INCA, Seattle, WA, USA (2016). From 2016-2020, Hagen ran Louise Dany in Oslo with artist Daisuke Kosugi, a discursive platform and exhibition space in their home and adjacent storefront.<\/p>\n<p>Hagen was artist in residence at WIELS Contemporary Art Center in 2024, and has participated in residencies at IASPIS, Stockholm (2019-20), Capacete, Rio de Janeiro (2018), and BAR Project, Barcelona (2017), among others. She holds a BFA from the Oslo National Academy of the Arts and participated in the Maumaus Independent Study Program in Lisbon in 2021. As a writer and critic she was selected for the Astrup Fearnley \u2018Next Generation of Norwegian Contemporary Art: Sun and Spring in January\u2019 in 2018, and the \u2018Another Gaze x Open City Docs New Critics Workshop\u2019 in 2022. Alongside her studio practice, Hagen has been dedicated to issues of artists\u2019 working and living conditions, most notably as a board member of the national artists\u2019 union and exhibition venue for contemporary art, UKS (Young Artist\u2019s Society) (2017-2023), and as a founding member of Kunstnerboligforeningen (The Artists\u2019 Housing Association). She is currently a board member of the artist-led film distribution collective Jack Film Agency.
