[vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”5px”][vc_separator color=”black”][vc_column_text]In 2016, after returning to Switzerland from his travels in Australia and Asia, he began studying for his Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts degree at the HGK FHNW. He also continued his self-taught activities in the dance style Breaking, focusing on battles. He notched up a number of successes, such as winning the 2vs2 BCJ Battle in Bern (2024), the Espiritual Freestyle Battle vol. 3 in Lima \/ Peru (2023), the 1vs1 Concrete-Battle at City vs. City Bern (2020). Timo was also one of the top 50 dancers at the Breaking World Championships in Nanjing China (2019), a semi-finalist at the BCOne Cypher Switzerland (Swiss Championships) in Basel (2017) and winner of the Battlesquare Genf Geneva(2016).In order to allow space for such an abundance of projects and for more intensive dance training, Timo extended the last year of his Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts at the FHNW HGK Basel, which he then completed in September 2020. This was followed by two years of independently creating entrepreneurial, artistic, and dance projects. With the emerging local crew Das Flavour (\u00a92019), he continued dance training even during the pandemic, with the focus shifting from battles to exchange, experimentation and creation. The crew has since launched a training support programme for talented local up-and-coming dancers, is creating shows and participating in battles. After two years of independent practice, Timo began a Master’s degree in Fine Arts at the Institute for Art, Gender and Nature at the HGK FHNW in summer 2022, which he successfully completed in 2024. He used the capacity freed up by scholarships to develop and deepen his hybrid art practice and to exchange ideas with fellow students and the local and national art scene. Recently, his works have been shown in the following contexts, among others: at the Diploma show at the new Kunsthaus Baselland (2024), the solo exhibition Keep A Blind Eye at BC Gallery Basel (2024) at Foyer 42 Basel (2023), the solo exhibition SCRUPUS at off- space Neuf Trois Basel (2023), the solo exhibition PROOF OF WORK at Der TANK at the Institute for Art, Gender and Nature at FHNW HKG Basel, at the group exhibition SCOUT at Schwarzpark Basel (2022), at the inauguration of the work purchase Kunst am Bau by the Amt f\u00fcr Umwelt und Energie Basel (2022), at Cine POP up at Cine ABC Bern (2022) and at the group exhibition Tripple Take at Wilde Gallerie Basel (2022). His two video works have been shown at international film festivals and have since received numerous nominations and awards.<\/p>\n

The first film La t\u00eate dans les \u00e9toiles was awarded with, among others \u201cFinalist Best Experimental Film\u201c at the ORION International Film Festival (2024), \u2018Best Concept\u2019 and \u2018Best Writer \u2019 at the Dona Paula International Film Awards (2024), \u2018Best No-Dialogue Film\u2019 at the Gothenburg World Cinema Awards (2024), \u2018Best Experimental Film\u2019 at the Milan Gold Awards in Milan (2024), \u2018Best Art Director and \u2019Best Art Film\u201d at the Festival De Indie in Chennai (2024), \u201cBest Experimental Film\u201d at the New Cinema Festival (2024), \u2018Best First Time Director\u2019 at the Frida Film Festival in Paris, \u2018Best Best Student Film\u2019 at the 8 & Halfilm Awards in Rome (2024), \u2018Best Art Video\u2019 at the San Jose International Film Awards in San Jos\u00e9 (2023), and finalist at the RED MOVIE AWARDS in Reims (2023)<\/p>\n

The second film SCRUPUS was awarded among others with: \u201cBest international Young Director\u201d and \u2018Best Experimental Project\u2019 at the Grand Prix of Italy in Venice (2024), \u2018Best Avant Garde Film\u2019, \u2018Best Innovative Concept\u2019 and \u2018Best Sound Design\u2019 at the Festival De Indie in Chennai (2024), \u2018Best Sound Design\u2019 and \u2018Best young Director\u2019 at the Casino Film Festival (2024), \u2018Best Indie Author of the Year\u2019 at the 8&Half Awards Special Event in Cannes, \u201cHonorable Mention\u201d at the Budapest Movie Awards in Budapest (2024), \u2018Best Sound Design\u2019 and \u2018Best young Director\u2019 at the Casino Film Festival (2024), \u2018Best Dance Movie\u2019 at the International Network Film Festival (2024), \u2018Best Short Experimental\u2019 at the San Antonio Independent Film Festival in Ecuador (2023), \u2018Best Narrative Short\u2019, \u2018Best Dance Film\u2019 and \u2018Best Student Film\u2019 at the 8&Half Film Awards in Rome (2023).[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_masonry_media_grid grid_id=”vc_gid:1729423981707-1f502028-74fd-9″ include=”26620,26622,26624,26626,26628,26630,26632,26634″][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
