Presented by Maria Em\u00edlia Capucho Duarte and Ana Nolasco[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”22505″ img_size=”full” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” onclick=”link_image”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][vc_separator][vc_column_text]”The present book develops a careful analysis of creativity in Portuguese-speaking insular spaces. “Creative Archipelagos” underlines the importance of artistic and visual production in the island contexts under study. Art, design and craft are the main focus of analysis in this monograph, although one of the project assets has to do with the fact that the author does not take for granted a single meaning and functionality in relation to the production of objects. Instead, Ana Nolasco is interested in understanding how these creative processes affect and activate other broader socio-cultural and political processes. This is, therefore, a multifaceted book, which does more than it says it does.<\/p>\n

“Carlos Garrido Castelhano[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Ana Nolasco<\/strong>, was born in Lisbon in 1969. She holds a doctorate and Master of Aesthetics and Philosophy of Art from the School of Arts and Humanities, University of Lisbon, and is a tutor in Arts and at the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon.<\/p>\n

She has published the book Transgressions of Beauty. Inventions of the Ugly in Portuguese Contemporary Art, Gr\u00e3onauta, 2014 and is the author of several articles in international journals such as Field.
