[vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”5px”][vc_separator color=”black”][vc_column_text]Angolan born after independence, Kamy lived her childhood and adolescence in Luanda. At 18 she moved to Lisbon to attend the Audiovisual and Multimedia University.
\nIn 2010 she returned to Angola and joined the team of the project “Angola – On the Tracks of Independence”<\/a>, in which she recorded about 700 interviews with people who participated in the fight for the independence of Angola that composed the documentary “Independence”<\/a> released in 2015. Kamy signs the Direction of Photography in the five films produced by the project and is the director of “Women of Weapons”<\/a>.
\nIn 2019 she directed her first feature film, the documentary “Beyond My Steps”<\/a>. The work narrates the challenges of building the new show of the Contemporary Dance Company of Angola and was awarded Best Documentary at the San Francisco Dance Film Festival in 2020 and at DOC Luanda 2022, among other awards.
\nKamy has worked on several film projects with different Angolan artists such as directors Fradique, Ery Claver, S\u00e9rgio Afonso; visual artists Kiluanji-Kia-Henda, Pamina Sebasti\u00e3o, Helena Uambembe; writer Ondjanki, among others
