Maura Grimaldi lives and works in S\u00e3o Paulo (Brazil). She obtained a master’s degree in Visual Arts (2012) by the School of Communication and Arts of the University of S\u00e3o Paulo, Maura graduated in 2009 as a major in painting (ECA\/USP). Since then, she has been working with photography and research. Grimalsi\u2019s practice converge and dialogue three points of interest: the image as a magical experience; its ontology; and the technical devices and processes that are involved in the image conception, production and reproduction. Most of the artist interests lies upon subjects such as phantasmagoria, the invisible, the already obsolete photographic technologies and devices related to the immersive experience of images contemplation (panoramas, darkrooms, magic lantern and other optical devices.). It\u2019s through the investigation of those subjects that Maura Grimaldi tries to reflect about the many conceptions of image.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
