She is a contributing editor at The Lifted Brow.\u00a0Ellena\u2019s essays have won and been shortlisted for many prizes; she has studied nonfiction under Maggie Nelson at Tin House Summer Workshop; and in 2015 she was named one of Melbourne Writers Festival\u2019s \u201930 Writers Under 30\u2032. Ellena is currently completing her first book, an experimental essay collection titled\u00a0<em>Blueberries<\/em>\u00a0after the opening essay, which in 2016 was shortlisted for the Scribe Nonfiction Prize for Young Writers, longlisted for the Richell Prize and is a finalist in The Atlas Review\u2019s Chapbook Series.
