On the one hand, Putz is interested on\u00a0how rituals are often used to elevate a specific situation, and,\u00a0on the other\u00a0hand, how they shape our daily lives and become habits. Putz has\u00a0also been researching in an institutional context with works on child welfare and doctor-patient-relation, where rituals are very common (standing in lines, filling out forms\u00a0etc.) but also problematic, when the ritualistic behaviour or bureaucracy has been\u00a0taken more account than the human relationship.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In her more recent work, Putz has been\u00a0focussing on the sound\u00a0aspect of rituals as it used church bells and sirens &#8211; ritualistic sounds that frame\u00a0people\u2019s daily life experiences, especially in the rural areas of Austria.\u00a0During her\u00a0residency at HANGAR, the artist will continue her\u00a0research on rituals, considering her\u00a0new surroundings,\u00a0especially aspects\u00a0related to the port: the sounds of incoming\u00a0ships, the cargo, the behaviour of people when they arrive and leave.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_masonry_media_grid grid_id=&#8221;vc_gid:1586955838066-9a0f60d9-6109-2&#8243; include=&#8221;4386,4385,9900,9901,4387,9902,9903,9904&#8243;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><center>Abril 2016<\/center><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":8,"featured_media":15370,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[168],"tags":[244,286],"class_list":["post-15368","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-portfolios","tag-2016-en","tag-previous"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v24.1 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>HANGAR - Centro de Investiga\u00e7\u00e3o Art\u00edstica - Michaela Putz<\/title>\n<meta name=\"description\" content=\"Exposi\u00e7\u00f5es, Workshops, Ateliers.
