Between 2005-08 Jo\u00e3o Grama attended the Advanced Photography Studies at Ar.Co, in Lisbon, having completed the Meistersch\u00fclerstudium Program at the Hochschule f\u00fcr Grafik und Buchkunst in Leipzig, Germany in 2016, with a scholarship from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. In 2015 he was selected for the Young Artists EDP Prize. Named for the European Photo Awards by the Gulbenkian Foundation, in 2012, he presented his works at various locations such as the Calouste Gulbenkian Center in Paris and the Deichtorhallen Kunst und Fotografie in Hamburg. In 2016 Grama had a solo exhibition at the Chiado Museum and the CIAJG in Guimar\u00e3es. His works are present in several personal and public collections in Portugal, namely Funda\u00e7\u00e3o EDP, Col.
