Our work is influenced by issues of societal power structures. Collecting and creating objects, texts, image and sound, which manifest into multi-media installations, our work aims to obstruct and exploit the ideas of substance and confuse the signs of status. By showing these \u2018things\u2019 in relation to each other, dialogues between \u2018things\u2019 and networks of meaning exist that create a constellation: an alternative perspective or understanding of value structures.\u201d\u201d<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/3&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;10634&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Olavo Amado<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8220;Amole Peda\u00e7u&#8221;\u00a0&#8211; Manta de Retalhos<br \/>\nO trabalho \u00e9 inspirado nos bairros hist\u00f3ricos de formas quase labir\u00ednticas, nos azulejos que enfeitam as paredes dos pr\u00e9dios antigos cheios de hist\u00f3rias que cruzam com hist\u00f3rias dos moradores (que reclamam) do cruzar de gentes que v\u00eam e que v\u00e3o.<br \/>\nEsses retalhos de hist\u00f3rias e de vidas de cada uma dessas pessoas ecoaram-me nos ouvidos, como o som de uma m\u00e1quina de costura que vi e fui vendo no decorrer das minhas caminhadas pelas ruas hist\u00f3ricas da cidade. E que me levaram a uma viagem no tempo j\u00e1 passado, quando a minha av\u00f3, com a sua j\u00e1 velha \u201cSINGER\u201d made in China, costurava os retalhos dos tecidos que estavam dispersos pelo ch\u00e3o do seu ateli\u00ea para fazer manta que servia de cobertor em noites menos quente. Esta Manta de Retalhos, s\u00e3o hist\u00f3rias de gentes de v\u00e1rias latitudes que migram, trazendo e levando sonhos na bagagem, e que com o passar do tempo v\u00e3o alternando entre o sonhar e a vontade de viver.&#8221; OA<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/3&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;10637&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Maikoiyo Alley-Barnes<\/strong><br \/>\n\u201cI am heavily vested in continuum within the African diaspora and its myriad spiritual and artistic practices. Lisbon has remained a point of access and dispersion without interruption for eons. I travelled here in search of old pathways (literal and figurative) and to study large and mid-scale public sculpture rendered in bronze and stone.
