The roots of the post-colonial and post imperialist social structures have been focused of the practical art of Destourelles, which includes various mediums, from minimalist videos at the base of the text from very texturized sensual paintings that investigate the way that words and images work to define social indicators. In his critique of social contexts and visual contexts and writings, Destourelles acts as symbols with historical charges to explore the resonance of discourses (like for example, the philosophical politics of Stuart Mill or the philosophy of the History of Hegel) and the form as these determine social relationships and current ways of thinking.

The artistic practices of Destourelles focus on the roots of post-colonial and post-imperialist social structures. He employs various mediums, from minimalist videos to base of text up to thickly texturized sensual paintings, to investigate the ways that words and images work to define social contexts. In his critique of social structures, visual and written texts, Destourelles examines symbols with historical contexts to explore the resonance of discourses (for example, the political philosophy of Stuart Mill or the Philosophy of History of Hegel) and the way that these determine social relationships and present ways of thinking.
