Bernard Paquet is professor at Laval University, in Quebec City, Canada, where he teaches art, mostly painting and drawing. His practice focuses on painting and for the last years he has been working with the concept of layers, site-specific painting and the painted image of post human body. He graduated with a bachelor’s  degree in biology (Laval University, 1977) and received his basic artistic training at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris (1984). In 1988 he completed his MFA in Visual Arts in Montreal (UQAM) and a Doctorate at Université de Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne (1997). His work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions around the world and is represented in public and private collections (Canada, France, United States, Argentina, Chile and Monaco). He received grants and funding from governments in Quebec, Canada, Brazil and the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation. He published articles in many art magazines and gave conferences about the creative process in Brazil, Canada, France, England, Martinique, Monaco, Switzerland and Tunisia.
