Biografia
Kiluanji Kia Henda (born 1979, Luanda, Angola). Vive e trabalha em Luanda, Angola.

O interesse de Kia Henda pelas artes visuais surge por ter crescido num meio de entusiastas da fotografia. A ligação com a música e o teatro de vanguarda, fizeram parte da sua formação conceptual, tal como a colaboração com colectivos de artistas em Luanda. Participou em vários programas de residências em cidades como Veneza, Cidade do Cabo, Paris, Amman e Sharjah, entre outras. Kia Henda participou também nas seguintes exposições selecionadas: 1ª Trienal de Luanda, 2007; Check List Luanda Pop, Pavilhão Africano, Bienal de Veneza, 2007; Farewell to Post-Colonialism, Trienal de Guangzhou, 2008; There is always a cup of sea to sail in, 29ª Bienal de São Paulo, 2010; Tomorrow Was Already Here, Museu Tamayo, Cidade do México, 2012; Les Prairies – Les Ateliers de Rennes,
2012; Mondays Begins on Saturday, 1ª Trienal de Bergen, 2013; The Shadows Took Shape, The Studio Museum of Harlem, Nova Iorque, 2013; Producing the Common, Dakar Biennale, Dakar, 2014; The Divine Comedy, Museum für Moderne Kunst, Francoforte and Smithsonian Institute, Washington, 2014; Surround the Audience, New Museum Triennial, New York, 2015; Museum (Science) Fictions – MUSEUM ON/OFF, Centre George Pompidou, Paris, 2016; TATE Liverpool, Constellations, 2016.
Em 2012, Kia Henda ganhou o Prémio Nacional da Cultura e Artes, outorgado pelo Ministério da Cultura de Angola e, em 2017 venceu o Frieze Artist Award em Londres.

    Artist Bio
    Kiluanji Kia Henda (born 1979, Luanda, Angola). His connection with music and avant-garde theatre is an integral part of his education as are his collaborations with various collectives and artists in Luanda. He has participated in several artist-in-residency programs in the cities of Venice, Cape Town, Paris, Amman and Sharjah amongst others. Kia Henda has participated in the following selection of exhibitions: 1st Luanda Triennial (2007); Check List Luanda Pop, African Pavilion , Venice Biennial, 2007; Farewell to Post-Colonialism, Guangzhou Triennial, 2008; There is always a cup of sea to sail in, 29ª Bienal de São Paulo, 2010; Tomorrow Was Already Here, Museo Tamayo, México City, 2012; Les Prairies – Les Ateliers de Rennes, 2012; Mondays Begins On Saturday, 1ª Bergen Triennial, 2013; The Shadows Took Form, The Studio Museum of Harlem, New York, 2013; Producing the Common, Dakar Biennial, Dakar, 2014; The Divine Comedy, Museum für Moderne Kunst, Frankfurt and The Smithsonian Institute, Washington, 2014; Surround the Audience, New Museum Triennial, New York, 2015; Museum (Science) Fictions – MUSEUM ON/OFF, Centre George Pompidou, Paris, 2016; Constellations, Tate Gallery, 2017. In 2012, Kia Henda won the National Culture and Art Prize of the Ministry of Culture in Angola, and in 2014 he was selected as one of the 100 Leading Global Thinkers by the Foreign Politics magazine. In 2017 he won the Frieze Artist Award and was selected for the Unlimited Basel 2019 edition.
