Curated by Bruno Leitão, “Fundação” (“Foundation”) is the record of an artistic research between futurism and architectural archeology.

The artist transforms the exhibition space into an immersive experience of a timeless character and creates an allegory of the human legacy on the planet. Using one of the most ubiquitous and ancient materials in the history of mankind – concrete -, Azambuja highlights art as an activity with the potential for critical reflection on its own history in the context of the Capitalocene.

By developing an artistic research about the processes of intersection of formalisms in the visual arts of the century XX and brutalist architecture, Azambuja creates a space that summons the bodies of the spectators as collaborators in a sensory experience.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Marlon de Azambuja (Santo Antônio da Patrulha, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, 1978) Lives and works in Madrid, Spain.
