He studied at ESAD.CR at the Ca\u00eddas da Ra\u00ednha between 1996 and 2001 and at Ar.Co in 2002. He received the Pr\u00e9mio Uni\u00e3o Latina (Latina Union Award) for the Jovem Cria\u00e7ao no Dom\u00ednio das Artes Pl\u00e1sticas (Young Upbringing in Dominion of the Fine Arts) in 2004. He was an artist in residence at the K\u00fcnstlerhaus Bethanien in 2008 (Bolsa Jo\u00e3o Hogan&#8211; Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Calouste Gulbenkian) and at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in 2010 and 2011. Between 2013 and 2015 he was one of the artist participants at the Home Works Program at Ashkal Alwan in Beirut.
